Race report by Jess Sanders

Sunday 24 th June saw the RRCI clubmans championship head down to the south west to Burlescombe, Devon - the home of Tiverton Radio Controlled Car Club. With a very wet weather forecast for the whole weekend, we were very lucky to get away with only a few light showers on the day. Drivers started to arrive at around 06:30 to get set up and ready for the wet day that lay ahead.

With 60 entrants booked in, qualifying got underway at 09:45 with some good times set straight from the off. Tyres were as always the lottery as to what to run, angles and turbo rats the favourites, but some running step pins when the track dried out a bit in between showers. Jess Saunders was the quickest on the day being the only driver to hit 8 laps, the next 22 drivers were on 7 laps, so very good close qualifying.

The A final and after a awful start due to jump starting by others we good pushed off way down the order but i knew the car was good so drove through to 2nd without a problem unfortunatly the leader had to much of a lead after our start for us to catch him but was very happy with 2nd maybe next time.

Final results:

1 Jon Howells
2 Jess Sanders XRAY XB8EC
3 Andrew Webb
